A jury has found a Providence police officer guilty of rape.
Providence patrolman Marcus Huffman was ordered held without bail after the jury reported finding him guilty of first-degree sexual assault stemming from the May 17, 2007, incident.
He raped a 19-year-old woman in a police substation in South Providence while the woman was intoxicated, according to trial testimony.
Huffman showed little emotion when the verdict was announced.
His attorney said he plans an appeal.
