The Rhode Island Bar Association is presenting two new seminars in March. A Family Court Forum on the 18th and Technology Tips on March 26. Here are the details.
Family Court Forum ~ Meet the Judges – On March 18th practitioners will have the opportunity to hear from the judges of the Rhode Island Family Court. The program will provide insight into judges~ opinions and preferences and useful advice on practicing before the Family Court. You will learn more about what the judges expect from attorneys appearing before them and have your questions on a variety of topics answered by sitting members of the court. The panelists include Hon. Jeremiah S. Jeremiah, Jr., Hon Haiganush R. Bedrosian, Hon. Kathleen A. Voccola and Hon. Howard I. Lipsey. The program will be moderated by David Tassoni. Each attendee will receive 3.0 CLE credits (including .5 ethics credit). The seminar will be held on March 18 at the RI Law Center from 4:00 pm ~ 7:00 pm. Tuition: $110.00 – Admitted to the RI Bar BEFORE January 1, 2004 $90.00 Admitted to the RI Bar AFTER January 1, 2004 ~ and Associate Members of RIBA ($10 is added to registrations received after March 16, 2009)
Technology Tips for Successfully Managing Your Law Practice – Technology will be the focus of a March 26 program. Whether you are just setting up your office, thinking of purchasing new or additional products, hiring a consultant or just need some guidance on what a lawyer needs to function in today~s world sign up for this session. An IT professional as well as a tech savvy attorney will guide you through acquiring and using technology in your office — what you need, how to establish a budget; training; websites; back-up, security, archiving, going paperless and more will be discussed. It~s almost impossible to practice law today without using some form of technology come to this session for some expert information. Each attendee will receive 3.0 CLE credits. The seminar will be held on March 26 at the RI Law Center from 3:00 pm ~ 6:00 pm. Tuition: $100 ($10 is added to registrations received after March 24, 2009)
